Is there a specific way to set this up? Or you just simply start a 30i NTSC project and import (or digitize) all your sources at 1:1 10b mxf.
I could not find any other setting aside from 30i NTSC when creating an NTSC project.
Is there a specific setting in the Timeline/Sequence somewhere for 10 bit?
I am guessing that a Timeline/Sequence is really what you put in it, i.e, if you are putting 1:1 10 bit clips in it, then it is a 10 bit timeline, right?
Also, what if you are using some 1:1 8bit mxf clips/stills on the same timeline containing 10 bit media, does it matter in any way at all?
Do I have to begin the sequence with a 10 bit mxf clip in order to start a 10 bit timeline/sequence?
Have been reading thru lots of posts here and at other places and avid online help, etc. for the last few days for this subject and others, and still am not clear on certain things, and just want to make sure, hence the questions and this post and some others, so please be gentle.
Your on course. Just open a new 30i project and start ingesting media. The 8bit and 10bit should play in the same timeline, but you may have to transcode the 8bit for digital cut.
thanks.
I dont have to output to tape as of now, but I do have to master a DVD. So for that, do I still have to transcode timeline's 8 bit media to 10 bit before exporting a quicktime? and how do I do that? is there an option or i would be asked to do that automatically before export? unless ofcourse you mean transcoding the source clips in the bin to 10 bit by using the consolidate tool and then swapping them into the timeline/sequence, and not another method that has something to do with export/render, etc.
Also, I do have to begin creating the sequence with a 10 bit clip, right?
Sorry, a total newbee...
