    Re: AXP R.I.P.

Does anyone know if there will be a patch for XPro for leopard now... I don't really need to upgrade to MC... I just use Xpro to input/output video and do some simple edits... and use AE for all the gfx work.

I've been using Leopard for months now... and still waiting on my XPro to run correctly...

Please do a search before posting. I've answered this a bunch this week. Currently there are no plans to further update 'Pro.

Good to hear the news... But i just jumped ship 3 weeks ago.

    Re: AXP R.I.P.

I'm curious about mojo usefulness as well. I've never had it. I always recalled MC needing additional hardware but from the qualified workstations chart that doesn't seem to be the case.

I haven't used AXP in several months because of a long FCP project-- but I would definitely consider the upgrade, if only to maximize my original investment. But the upgrade PLUS a mojo might be a dealbreaker....thoughts?

You americans are so lucky - or are we Europeans just being taken for fools?

Why is the upgrade $495 in the US, when overhere in Holland Avid wants to charge me €595?? That's about $900 with the current exchange rate!

Well, we gotta shore up the sagging dollar wherever we can...

Seriously though, I'm working through this with Avid right now. Hopefully more to post today.

At least Avid Netherlands has managed to put it on the website (even if it is "out of stock"). Avid Germany doesn't seem to know it exists (but you can buy Media Composer software for €4,700 - that's only $7,400!). Did Tewksbury tell their branches what was happening this week?

    Re: AXP R.I.P.

The price in Germany for Media Composer software has been updated on the website: it's "crashed" to €2600 - that's a shade over $4000. The AXP -> MC upgrade is €500 ($782). Even after subtracting German VAT, that's $656 net, a 30% hike over US prices. I'd love to hear Tewksbury jor Avid Germany's reasoning for that.

    Re: AXP R.I.P.

I also love to hear more about that. I still am not sure about the following also: I will receive a new Macpro with Leopard and AVIDXPRESS PRO in a few days now (turnkey). AXpresspro will be installed on Windows (dual boot) first. I wonder now if Avidxpress pro won't EVER work on Leopard and if I should immediately upgrade to MC (since the price is cheap) and let my reseller install the package....?

No, it won't. All of these questions, including the Europe pricing are in the FAQ at the top f this forum.
