Marquee - "Save All to Bin" Error

For the life of me I can not get the "Save All to Bin" option to work. It only renders the viewable title and not the many other's I have. This is really crappy when it comes to AutoTitler (which can be very finicky in its own right, but a life saver!).

I have AXP 5.7.7 Education Version

Does anyone have any ideas about why this would be the case??

    Thanks

This has come up before. It might be a bug and/or there may be some workarounds. Do a search.

Must think of something clever to go here...

I did a search and didn't find anything on this forum... BUT I did figure out somewhat of a workaround...

    1. After you execute the AutoTitler program. Go up to MARQUEE (in Mac) and choose QUIT. It will prompt you to save each of then.

    2. Choose Save to Bin. It will take you back to AXP, and allow you to save the current title just like normal.

    3. Then you have to go back to Marquee and keep on selecting the "Save to Bin" option for each title. Marquee cycles through each title that is open automaticity after each title you save.

This is still more time consuming but keeps it somewhat automated.

If anyone else knows of a way to fix it or workaround let me know! Thanks!

Re: Marquee - "Save All to Bin" Error

Ditto to what jacksonpro wrote. I asked the same question not too long ago and it went unanswered, too (see http://community.avid.com/forums/p/55398/309434.aspx#309434).

Because of the lag when you switch back into MC/Xpress Pro (especially while on a Unity), the workaround of individually saving each title in Marquee is about the same in time for me as just doing it manually in the Title Tool inside MC/Xpress Pro. At least that way you don't have to keep waiting for Avid to catch up once you switch back to it from Marquee.

Anyway, I chalk this up to a bug. Although i doubt Marquee is high up on Avid's fix-it list, where does one submit a bug?

Re: Marquee - "Save All to Bin" Error

I have a little free time so I am trying things that I never used before, such as the autotitler.  I had to save a Word file as an MS-DOS with line breaks file in order to get it to work but, here we are almost a year since this last post and the save all to bin or ever save to bin, does not work.  I noticed in the tutorial that I watched that as you viewed each new title under Window they each had a number which mine do not so I wonder if that has something to do with it?

Any new info. will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Nancy

Re: Marquee - "Save All to Bin" Error

Not sure about that, but there was a time when this feature worked. I used it on a film back in 2006 and it worked as promised, and when on a subsequent film I tried to use it again in th exact same way but on a different version of MC, it no longer worked. I replicated exactly the steps I used the first time, and on the newer version of MC it was a no-go. That's why my feeling is that it really is a bug that's been introduced and not user error.

Haven't downloaded 3.5 yet, though, maybe they fixed it in that?

    Thanks Evan,

I can't move to 3.5 yet because I'll have to upgrade my computer but, thanks for the information.
