No buttons show up in Effect Mode

Hello everyone About half an hour ago I was working on editing a project and accidentally pressed some buttons on my keyboard; now, whenever I go from Source/Record mode into Effect mode on the timeline, nothing changes and none of the usual buttons show up under the monitor; as an example, there's no pink triangle button to add a keyframe. I have no idea how this happened, and I don't have a clue how to fix it. Restarting Avid hasn't worked, and all I haven't had any luck with an internet search. Has anyone had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it? Thanks.

...check your keyboard settings....create a new default KB and use that and see if it helps...

also...try resetting your workspace back to default or even create a new user, which should also reset evrything back to their default values.

I'm afraid neither of the suggested fixes worked, but I did find a solution: I entered effects mode on the timeline, bought up the command pallet (Tools -> Command Palette), and manually clicked and dragged the keyframe button onto the list of commands under the monitor. I hope this helps anyone else who has this same problem.
