I'm not delivering - HELP!
Just had 5 fails for my trusted workflow on audio integrated loudness being 3dB over.
I just drop my EBU128 LevelNorm2 plugin by Beatrig (now unsupported[:'(] )on my stereo audio mixdown for final AS11 creation and render it. Always worked but it seems to be mono summing the stereo pair now - despite being set to stereo. Feels like a bug.
My settings are good as my facilities house ran their Bomb Factory 128 normaliser on my track' I laid it back and it flew through on same project and output settings.
Happy to buy another to try - what do you use?
Ultimate 2022.12.1, Blackmagic Intensity Pro, WIN 11 on 7000Mbps M.2 SSD, Nvidia Quadro P4000, Asus Pro Art Z690 i9 12900k 5.0 GHz, 8TB M.2 SSD - its nippy!
Youlean do a free/Pro version of their loudness meter.
It's available as a standalone program as well as VS2/3, AU and AAX plugins.
Claims to be 100% accurate.
I've tested the standalone against the inbuilt Fairlight analyser (within Davinci Resolve) and they broadly agree with each other.

Thanks - that sounded good but its just analysis. I need it to normalise/legalise for output.
This could be: MCCET-5808 AudioSuite plug-ins can only be used in Mono mode on master clips
Send me an email and we can get a case going.
Last known good is 2023.12.4

DIESELE:I need it to normalise/legalise for output
I think most of these plugins 'normalise' by simply by reducing the output gain by the equivalent number of db, so not difficult to do yourself.
Since you're creating AS11 packages, I'm guessing you deliver for UK TV.
These days I tend to advise/help students for cinema releases, and I generally recommend finishing in Davinci Resolve. This is especially true since we're increasingly delivering 5.1 surround and current versions of MC have bugs in exporting surround correctly.
Resolve will analyse/normalise audio to a chosen loudness standard, both within the Fairlight module or when exporting from the Deliver tab. The problem with Resolve is that it can't export AS11 UK DPP without additionally installing the MainConcept Codec plugin.
If you're looking for an AAX plugin that will also normalise, Nugen do one called LM_Correct. It's somewhat more pricey than Youlean (around £300). I tried it some years ago (as a RTAS plugin) and it seemed to do the job. However, with Philip K just mentioning this Audiosuite bug, I'm even more reluctant to recommend Media Composer for any audio finishing work!
I vaguely recall there was an AAX bug where stereo clips were being internally summed, messing up all these plugins.
This is what the plugin manufacturer was suggesting - that Avid was defaulting to mono on stereo tracks. OMG the pain this caused. The other brand plugin i tried only displayed one leg on a stereo track when analysing LUFS too..
Thanks for the help Phil.

Diesele, could you send me an email?
I'd like to add you to the list of customers facing this bug.
i have the same problem here, all stereo r128 Tools are showing wrong results.
now i Export stereo Master and check outside avid.
is there a solution for using the plugins inside amc?
fsm:is there a solution for using the plugins inside amc?
The solution would be for Avid to fix the bug.
Some of these bugs have been around for many months (and even years) with no sign of any fix.
For example... MCCET-5709 5.1 Exports not correct with LFE and sometimes incorrect track ordering... has been around for at least six months and there's been radio silence about any upcoming fix.
Unfortunately, I don't have the time to wait for Avid to fix these things, so have moved over to other software to do final exports.
Ten years ago, MC was one of the most reliable tools for finishing. Unfortunately, recent advances in audio finishing (such as surround sound and loudness standards) have made it impossible to rely on Avid for meeting modern delivery requirements.
