Hello,

I have a strange behaviour in MC for a few days, though I didn't change anything in MC settings or hardware. When playiing the timeline I see all the effects and alpha channels, but when I pause, all the effects and alpha channels are gone. 

It means I can see the effects only on playback.

Does anyone know what could cause this?

Under one of the menus is a setting called 'Render On-the Fly'. You need to have it on/checked.

IIRC it's under the 'Composer' menu.
