I/O gear for MC 2023 on MAC M2

I'm currently running MC 2023.12 on my 2023, 16" M2 MBPro with no problems at all. But I'd like to add I/O gear to send picture to a client monitor, and sound to external speakers. In the paast, I've used AJA and Blackmagic devices, but I'm seeing some feeedback online that the currrent versions aren't compatible with MC on Apple silicon. And I know Avid has discontinued the Artist I/O boxes. Anybody have experience with this?

Re: I/O gear for MC 2023 on MAC M2

We had issues whereby having I/O connected to MC on an Apple Silicone system caused MC to crash/hang/drop audio.

The root causes included bugs in our open IO code and Blackmagic's desktop video setup driver.

You 'should' be okay, and if there are issues they will be fixed. The alternative is running your client monitor through HDMI and setting that up as a full screen playback device within Media Composer

For now, we have this communication:

Blackmagic has released a new Desktop Video driver v12.8.1 to resovle the hang when starting playback on MC.
