    Hard drive making MC crash

I’m importing UHD footage into an old mac / Media composer.

    (Apple iMac 27" 2.7GHz Intel Core i5, 12GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory - O/S 10.12.6  MC V8.7.5)

When I import onto a fast G-Tech thunderbolt drive, it flags up: “unexpected error while importing QuickTime audio”. I accept the issue, then it crashes.

But, if I import the same footage onto different drive via USB, MC doesn’t complain and doesn’t crash.

The first drive has a lot of footage on it and is my main edit drive. So what has gone wrong?

If this persists I assume I can just copy the ingested footage onto the main drive & hope MC can find it?

    What's the G-Tech's file-system?
