**Do NOT bump up to 12.7 yet!** (As of Oct 13, 2023)

I just went through a huge hassle downgrading back to 12.6.8 because the Avid was hanging every few minutes (seemingly when trying to rewrite bin or search indexes according to the error logs). Learn from my mistake. Apple makes it near impossible to downgrade now because when you reinstall the OS using the recovery disk, it automatically updates to the latest version. Save yourself 2 infuriating and nerve-wraking days.

(It would also be nice if the Avid version matrix indicated the third patch number when it lists the OS version. It just says "12.6" making it unclear if that covers all 12.6 patches (ie: 12.6.7, 12.6.8, 12.6.9, etc.))

Mac OS X
13.0 to 13.5.2 (Ventura – no dongles)
12.0, 12.6***** (Monterey - no dongles)
11.x up to 11.7 (Big Sur)
10.15.7 (Catalina)*****

In 'Update: BMD/AJA I/O box known issue' Ajay also posted:

'In the meantime, BMD has told us they’ve seen a much lower frequency of issues on macOS 12.7 Monterey and on Ventura 13.6. So, if you’re currently experiencing issues, following BMD’s suggestion of upgrading your macOS to 12.7 or 13.6 may reduce the rate of instances.'

Unless I'm missing something the two posts are contradictory.

Sorry if the statement was confusing. The post about BMD was as per the testing that was done by BMD regarding the current issue on the BMD hardware and Mac systems.

Avid has not qualified Mac OS 12.7 and 13.6

They are terrible with their responses. They'll just point you to the "Version Matrix" without actually addressing the question. Not to mention the fact that my reply above, as well as other questions I've posted, took 10 days(!) to be "approved". God forbid I am in a bind and need an answer quickly.

Yes we do... and other than the week I was out for surgery, we were lock in step on this but sicne I have been the one working with engineering and QA on this for a while, you should go with what works for your system which isnt always the same setup as everyone else.  Im back now and will be pushign this again starting now.

This is a tough pill to swallow when one component of this software dance is the Avid version, and Avid removed old versions from the download center and limited our ability to 'go with what works for your system'. Sometimes you upgrade hoping it will resolve an issue, only to find it has caused more issues, and so you need to revert back to the old Avid version you were using. But that's not an option now

Any movement on this? I'm stuck on Monterey 12.6.9. I wanted to upgrade to Ventura but it was already up to 13.6 (now 13.6.2) and Avid only qualifies up to 13.5.2, which, unless you happen to already have that specific installer downloaded from Apple, you can't get. They force you to the newest version.

In the interim, I'd at least like to update to Monterey 12.7 or 12.7.1, but those also are not Avid qualified
