Jason intructions have worked for me.
But I have to say (rant alert) that this is just one more very disturbing example of product design and implementation of Avid's Media Composer. Add to that, but in the same general area, the lack of a drive refresh tool that will sometimes force a restart of Avid to merely see new content on a drive.
These seem like such basic problems. Almost as if there is no experienced management any more.

Again, I can't take credit, it was Arthur Riddle that discovered it
Oh yes,
I can see the disk.
But no matter what I do, mc cannot find the mxf that are now on the new disk, even though I can see it.
So right now I absolutely don't know what to do anymore.
Martin.
Martin;
You're going to have be more specific. WHAT are you trying to relink, and EXACTLY what are the steps you are trying?
Let's also make sure you're trying to have your Avid relink to LINKED files (what this thread was about)... not! files in the Avid MediaFiles folder.
Let us know and we can help from there,
j
Hi J
Thanks for reaching out.
Problem solved. The Avid Media files folder was stored in another folder.
So not in the root of the external disk.
Stupid mistake. But you learn from it!!

Well, again, thanks to you and Arthur. I have been using this alot recently. It would be nice if there was doc on this as I have had to experiment my way through figuring out how it works.
