AMC 2022.12.4: On a bin created with 2022.12.4, the comments column is not saved. On a bin created on an earler version of AMC, it will save the comments using 2022.12.4.
Noticed that as well this week. Rolled back to 22.10 because of it.
I rolled back to 2022.12.3 which works fine. This issue was known about by Avid. The quick work around is to put the bin into script mode which will allow adding comments.
..
I don't use the comments column but I have noticed an inability to add text into a user defined column for anything not actually connected to media.
So for example, you can add text to a user defined column for Clips, Subclips etc but NOT for Sequences, effects, tiimewwarps etc.
Furthermoure, I have a large number of generic bins created in previous versions where I categorise items using user defined columns. ALL the entries in those columns don't appear in 2022.12.2. What I don't know is whether they are lost for good or will appear again when this annoying bug is fixed.
I have a case open with this problem (case: 04647439) and apparently a fix is ready but awaiting rollout.

I'm also being frustrated by this bug, but what I can tell you is that the data is not lost. When you upgrade or downgrade you will be able to see the data in these columns.
Forgot to update this thread... the fix, I believe is in 2023.3, 2023.3.1, and 2023.8
