Been having years of struggles with Euphonix not activating, despite all looking well on the Euphonix app, showing all my surfaces. Just upgraded to a new computer, fresh install of almost all apps, and bingo, everything works perfectly... until I install Baselight, a critical plug in for me. My surfaces - especially Artist Mix, worked flawlesly until I installed Baselight, then back to error message and no surface, no Eucontrol on Artist Mix. The color surface does work, but is not claimed by Eucontrol app. Baselight obviously is the conflict here, discoeverd at long last. What can I do, as I need both Eucontrol and Baselight? I had numerous tickets for this in the past years, even when I had paid phone support, all to no avail: "waiting to hear back from Euphonix" which never happened. I'd really appreciate some help from Avid -
Have to tried setting the IP adresses static

I run all my controllers mix color and control on it's own switch and nic on my mac on static ip's
Yes, done all that, different versions, hours on the phone with support. All the obviouys and not so obvious things. Found this by accident - verified by installing, uninstalling etc; it's Baselight. There is a conflict, no question that's the cause.
Now, what to doi about it -
Just to confirm, we are talking about the Baselight Editions plugin for Avid?
I have the plugin installed on my win 10 system (along with Resolve and MC) and I have no problems with my Artist Color, Artist Control and Artist Transport.
As far as I'm aware, the Baselight plugin doesn't make any calls on the Artist color until it's started (when you load up MC), so I don't understand what's going on here.
You're probably aware that the Baselight plugin communicates directly with the Artist color, so you either need to stop the Eucon software or remove the panel from 'My Surfaces'. Assuming you've given all your surfaces unique static IP addresses, you need to assign this same address in the Baselight plugin setup for it to be able to capture the Artist Color.
Once MC is closed down, I can happily use my Artist Color with Resolve without any problems. Resolve accesses the Artist Color through Eucon, so you need to have this running and the panel assigned to 'My Surfaces'.
Unfortunately, the Artist series is EOL so there's not going to be much help out there from manufacturers.
If it helps, I can give you details of my setup/software versions, which may help wih your troubleshooting.
I am talking about Baselight for Avid, 5.3. I get the "Euphonix failed to initialize" error message right after the Baselight splash screen, before I've had a chance to open Baselight.
I have Artist Mix and Eucontrol claimed in the Euphonix app, and Artist color just on the left side, not claimed. It always works fine, despite the error message. All surfaces always appear in the Euphonix app despite the error message.
I have spent hours in remote sessions with Avid techs, and have tried all sorts of solutions, including static IP addresses, all without success. I only discovered the conflict by accident while swapping out to a new, powerful Dell workstation. Fresh install of all software - worked great until I installed Baselight. This conflict began several years ago, and was not associated with any new hardware or software; just one day I got the error message and the Mix surface, and later Eucontrol stopped working. I'm working on a show about music now, and badly need both Baselight and Artist Mix, so any help with your setup would be most appreciated. I'm also on Windows 10 Pro and MC 2023.3, and the latest Unified Euphonix software - tried rolling back numerous versions with that also, with no luck.
Thanks, hoping to find a solution - driving me crazy. I see I'm not the only one having this problem, but have never heard of Baselight being part of it until now. I've reached out to them also, but it's likely an Avid or Euphonix issue.
I'm using Baselight Editions version 5.3.16760.
My Eucontrol is an earlier version (3.6.1)
I've heard of people having trouble with the later versions of Eucontrol, so have stuck with this version, which has worked on various Win10 machines I've used.
Never had the error message you mentioned.
Win 10 is version 21H2.
Since the plugin uses the graphics processor, could this be an issue? I've used it with various Nvidia drivers, but the latest I have is v528.02
Thanks, that's very helpful. I'll install the earlier Euphonix software and see what happens. No doubt at all that Baselight is the conflict; didn't realize there might be a graphic conflict.
Tried with Eucontrol 3.6.1, still getb the same error message.
