Hi. I'm using 4k footage in a 1080 project. Frameflex is working great until I try to make a group clip. Then I'm only seeing a cropped/zoomed 1080 of the 4K footage. Is there a way to apply framflex to a group clip?
Any work arounds people have found? I'm linking maybe if I do my grouping work in a 4K project and then bring it into my main project, it might work. I'm going to try that now, but hoping there is some setting I'm misisng.
Thanks!
Hi there, just wondering if you managed to find a solution to your issue?
Did you apply the frameflex after you created the group?
I've been having similar group playback issues, working with UHD media in an HD project. I don't remember this being the case last year, but it's been there in all the 2022 versions. It seems to be related to the fact that there are inevitably media "offline" at the top of the group clip. The workaround for me has been to place an "Add Edit" to the group clip in the timeline, usually at a point in the clip when all the media is overlapping. You'll see the scaling issue resolve immediately once the edit has been added.
As for frameflex with group clips, those adjustments can't be made on group clips in the timeline. The alternative is to make frameflex changes to clips with Source Settings, then Refresh the timeline to display the changes. Of course those adjustments will ripple across anywhere the clip is used. Otherwise, you can Commit Multicam Edits in the timeline to make per-clip adjustments.
Omg this has been driving me nuts! Thank you for the add-edit info!
To add my two cents to the second point: I also quickly realized that even though you can now see the spatial adapter now when the group clip is in the timeline, as you point out you cannot use frameflex on the group clip.
My workaround is that instead of waiting until commiting multicam edits at the end, I just double match frame to the master clip and lay in that clip for the bits I want to re-size using frame flex. If you are just applying it to the whole clip, then obviously making the change through source sttings and then refreshing is the way to go. But in my case I often use the same clip as a wide and tight, since we shoot in UHD and air in 1080. So for that, matching and dropping it in from the master clip is most useful, and more expedient than waiting to commit multicam edits.
Thank you again!!
