Since a couple of weeks I have the following annoying problem:
Whenever I change a title, the font and size changes even when I start typing in the middle of a word of an existing title.
It is time consuming to chage the font for every word I change. The whole idea is to make a standard title which you can adjust. That always worked. Until a couple of weeks.
I am working on a iMac Pro with macOS Big Sur. And Avid Media Composer Version: 2022.4.0.56108.0
Am I the only one with this problem? Is there a solution?
Hi there,
Have you tried to re-set your Avid user settings?
If that didn't work, it would be best to create a support case to log this: https://www.avid.com/learn-and-support/contact-support
If you do not have an active support contract get back to me and I will get a case going for you.
Hi flinq -
Concur. You are not alone! See my post below "Some maybe new thoughts on Titler+?"
No solution at present. Sigh.
As a workaround, are you able to get better responsiveness to your Title text changes by using the Text display box found inside the Titler+ Effect Editor? Or does that give you the same issue?
-Telegram!
Hey Telegram! Dont know if you're asking me or flinq, but at least for me, I've totally bypassed using the Effects Editor controls. They run slower than the main Titler+ window controls, at least on my system. The few times I had used the Effects Editor controls, the same issue has been present.
I'd reiterate my question from my other post... why are we even being offered Effects Editor controls for media that the Avid engineers don't consider to be effects? I grow firmer in my belief that Titler+ would benefit from being completely severed from the Effects Editor.

I was just asking the OP or to you or anyone-- as it relates to adding extra on-screen letters or changing the existing lettering. On my PC, I feel that simple manuever can be smoother/easier using the little box inside the editor, but of course it's just a workaround. Agree with you that making changes to the other controls using Editor is more or less similar.
Hopefully some day soon, this tool will meet all the various expectations.
I'm glad to finally see UHD titles. I really want the ability to Export a Titler+ made Anim or a frame.... with its alpha-- in the tradition of Marquee. If it is not possible within the existing Titler+ Editor and could only be accomplished with an approved Add-On app, it still would be valuable to have that option, imo.
Thanks Telegram! The workaround works. I hope it won't be necessary in the nearby future.
You are definitely not the only one with this problem. EVery time I try to edit any Tiler+ titles, the font is set to Arial and size 53, no matter what font and size the existing text is set. It's a bug.
Best to create a support case Philip.
The more we log, the better the chance of it getting fixed

Done a long time ago, as with all my bugbears about it! And, this particular issue appears fixed in 2022.7, thankfully.
