Hello!  New to posting here but banging my head against the wall:

On booting up Media Composer, Avid completely locks the whole machine up.  The launch window goes away after plugins are loaded and "Initializing" comes up, and I'm left with the gray UI as if Avid is going to boot, but then I get an immediate frozen beach ball and the whole computer is locked up.  I have to hard restart it.

I've tried trashing mcstate and pmr files, tried an uninstall and re-install of Avid and no dice.

The even log shows a DSM path not found error, but we've been getting that for a long time and had no issues.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've since determined there's a hardware issue at play with this particular imac.  Something causing it to have issues communicating with the Nexis.  Going to try to do a clean OS install and rebuild but not super confident.
