    Can't import mp3-Files

    Hello everyone,

from time to time i need to work from home on my one editing rig because of the pandemic. Here i can't import mp3-Files. There is no error message shown. If i try to import more than one file, there is the typical "X file(s) remaining to import / Abort or Continue" message. The only way around it, is to link and consolidate the files. Same with mp4 but here i don't know if it’s supposed to work. The media creation settings seams to set correctly. Any ideas? Thanks

    Hi PhilippR,

It would help to know your system specifications. Which specific version of Media Composer are you using? Which specific operating system? Processor? Amount of RAM? Video card? Is your media linked, transcoded, or imported? Where is your media stored? Look at my profile at the bottom of this post for an example.

If you fill out this information in your profile, you won't have to type it out every time you need help.

I try to import it. A different media drive makes no difference.

    Hi, PhilippR

Try installing Quicktime player. Had exactly same problem. Installing (latest v 7.7.9) Quicktime player solved it.

Yes, that solved it Yes Is there no other option than to install Quicktime along with Media Composer? The last version is from 2014 and is no longer supported.

Perhaps the files do not come in because they're variable bitrate mp3s, try converting them to fixed bitrate before importing.
