Important Information about Chrome v100 Update

    **URGENT NOTICE**

Hello MediaCentral | Cloud UX Users. Read This Important Information about Chrome v100 Update. You'll need to take action before March 29.

Avid is proactively reaching out to make our customers aware of a potential issue and prevent any potential business interruption for users of Google’s Chrome browser and some Avid products.

On March 29, Google will be updating Chrome to version 100. MediaCentral | Cloud UX, MediaCentral | Sync, and Avid Editorial Management customers planning to implement this version may encounter an issue when logging in through their web browser. For full details and actions that you must take BEFORE March 29 to ensure continuity, please read this MediaCentral and Chrome100 Knowledge Base article (link below). If you want real-time updates and guidance as this situation unfolds, then subscribe to that article. (Select “Subscribe” under the “Tools” menu on the right navigation bar. By entering your name and email you will be notified each time the article is updated.)

Note that this issue affects the Welcome screen only. If you apply a workaround (as documented below), all other functionality is normal after signing into the system. Additionally, all MediaCentral Panels that connect to the Platform are not affected. Detailed info: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/faq/Chrome-v100-issues

    **UPDATE**

24 March, 2022 Regarding v.100 Chrome for Avid customers using the following products:

    - MediaCentral | CloudUX
    - Avid Editorial Management
    - MediaCentral | Sync customers

(This does NOT affect MediaCentral UX customers. Only CloudUX running Chrome.)

IMPORTANT: Unless you have Chrome auto-updates disabled you need to take action before 29th of March.

UPDATE -- MediaCentral | CloudUX patches for 2020.4 and higher are released and in the download center.

UPDATE -- Avid Editorial Management v2020.11.3 patch has been released and is in the download center.

If you subscribe to the Knowledge Base article [HERE], you'll get updated immediately when new info becomes available. Patches are cumulative, so if the CloudUX system is not already on the latest patch level, the patch will deploy the v100 fix as well as other missing bug fixes.

IMPORTANT: If you have no time to do a patch upgrade, or if there is no patch update available for your version of CloudUX, Editorial Management: An additional risk mitigation method has been documented. This will allow Domain administrator to change the version string of Google Chrome back to v99 centrally and thus might be preferrable for larger sites then the shortcut method. Please see the Avid MediaCentral Cloud UX .pdf [HERE] for details.

If there are open questions, please feel free to open a Customer Support Ticket via the Salesforce Web Portal. Please start the subject line with “v100 Chrome” -- or email me directly at [email protected] and I can get the right people to assist you.
