Hi,
Yesterday i unpacked my new Mac Pro. I've installed Decklink 4K Extreme 12G. I've downloaded Avid 2021.12, and newest Desktop Video Setup 12.2.2. And there is no video output. The toggle client monitor option is grey out. I checked that the video output works just fine in Resolve, so there is an Avid (or else?) issue. I've got Big Sur and mac is obviously Intel.
Do you have any idea what could be the issue here?
Does the ribbon say "Avid Media Composer Decklink Monitor 4k"? Mine says Avid Media Composer Ultimate Decklink Mini Monitor. If it doesn't say the name of your I/O device, MC launched in software only mode and can't find the I/O device.

Although this issue was fixed in 2018, it might have re-appeared in this version.
Thanks for answering. Actually the ribbon says just Avid Media Composer (plus my project name). Is there a way for Avid not to launch in software only mode? Also I dont have any Boris plugins.
It used to be that you had to install avid first and then the desktop video- just checking you did that?

That will be a definite No. I did it other way around.
UPDATE: I just reinstalled everything in correct order and... suprise suprise it works :)
Thanks a lot!

Glad to hear!
When you install the Black Magic drivers it checks if Media Composer is already installed. If its not it doesn't add the Avid specific drivers (as they have to live in the Avid application folders and they don't exist) Installing Avid after and Avid doesn't have the drivers.
To fix just re-running the Blackmagic driver is enough. It will see Media Composer and add the missing drivers.
