Hi,
I just installled 2021.6 but, after rebooting, MC started crashing on launch. No way to make it work. I tried to uninstall it and then install it again (always through Avid Link) but it didn't work, MC keep crashing every time.
Is there a solution?
I have a 2016 Macbook Pro 15 on Big Sur 11.4 and before installing this bugged version I was using 2021.5 without problems.

Do you have plugins installed ?If so, you could try to uninstall them and see. Then reinstall them one by one.
You're lucky installed it. I can;t evem install it and wait for crash.
No plug-ins. Just Media Composer crashing on launch.
I had to switch back to 2021.5.
tnx
FYI I just had a user report 2021.6 crashing on launch with the message 'Exception: SYS_ERROR'
The culprit turned out to be a screenshot file on his desktop with an illegal character (a forward slash) in the filename. I'm not kidding.
Removing the slash in the filename allowed MC to launch.
Hope this helps,

Really?
I don't think I have any illegal filename on my desktop, but I'll check...
Tnx
Ok, no illegal filenames on my desktop, but MC is alway crashing when loading MSP_Q7 plugin.
I would try to remove it to see if this solves the problem, but for some reason I couldn't find it. Maybe the problem is that MC is trying to load a plugin that is not there?
And, by the way, what is that plugin? (sound like something Quicktime 7 related...)
tnx,
g.
Hi - not sure of you solved this, but with the newer AMC's on my macbook pro I always need to remove the 'AvidTitlerPlus.avx' from inside the Avid app. Highlight the app, show contents, navigate to the plugins folder and delete... no idea why..!
