    Mp4 from Newtek Tricaster

    Hi

I have been sent an mp4 output from a Newtek Tricaster which has audio in the track format of C L R Cb.

The video is fine but Media composer brings up an error message for the audio.

Should Media composer recognise this audio layout?

Is there a specific codec for this type of file/audio?

    Thanks

What does the error message say?

When do you get the error?

Are you linking to the file? Linking and transcoding it? Or importing it?

    Re: Mp4 from Newtek Tricaster

    So I have solved this.

I was linking to the file, so I tried forcing Avid to use Quicktime to link and that allowed me to see the four audio tracks.

    Thanks

How where you linking to it to produce the error? was it using the UME plugin?

If so it would be helpful to have a short example file to test.

UME is replacingthe quicktime AMA plugin so UME should work.

    Re: Mp4 from Newtek Tricaster

It was linking using the older AMA.

QuickTime was the older AMA UME is the newer one. Which one works?

I used quicktime as the link out of the choice of Avid Generic, Quicktime and Sony XDCam
