    you can absolutely. And you won't even see longer boot times from a slower sata SSD IRL.
    I'd say we're in a toss up between bigger, partitioned M2 and m2 + sata combo.
    If one can't make up one's mind - then either way is usually fine.

    I'm looking at a referbed HP Z840 and storage wise leaning towards 2 NVME drives (512GB boot and 1TB media)

    And then 3 SAS drives 3TB each as a RAID 5 for longer term storage.

    Its all quite affordable nowadays.

    Look on Amazon (UK). Some of the prices on NVME drives seem to have dropped just today.

    Yes, AMD lit a fire under Intel's behind last week. I've been on popcorn binge for days.

    Your 3TB drives are from 2009 and not supported anymore.
