I am currently using 2019.12.3, though I´ll give the latest 2020 another try, because my current 2019 version drives me nuts. Right now I am transcoding ProRes 4k to DNxHD 85, this exact same process with the same footage from the same Lacie rugged out of the same ARRI Alexa used to run at ~ 90% CPU and was quite fast. Now, it´s using less than 10 % CPU and is accordingly taking up lots of time, and has already broken off a few times. I have done so much troubleshooting MC these days, I am tired. What is it now?
Copying the files to an internal hdd first (since it broke off again) gives me at least ~ 40 % CPU.
Is this just one core at 10/40% (assuming you have a multi-core CPU) or multiple cores/threads?
Not sure if Avid's new UME is now controlling things like transcoding.
How is the load of the hdd?
