2020.12 Audio mixer - can't type in volume level

Can't type in a value into the volume window at bottom of fader in Clip Volume mode. This worked in all previous versions (certainly in 2020.9)

Now I have to move the fader as only way to adjust volume which is slower and less precise than typing in a number

@Derek  - I have also seen this in my install of 2020.12 as well. It happens intermittently and mostly when I have the clip loaded in the source window. I'm just closing and then reopening the audio mixer and it seems to fix it. Annoying little bug.

    Hi,

I just tried this on the system in my specs. If you click the number at the bottom of the fader to highlight it and then type a value on the number pad, it seems not to do anything, but then when you press 'enter' on the number pad the fader jumps to the number you typed and the number at the bottom updates.

Can you both (and anyone else who is interested) please try this to double-check and make sure which way it's not working? I'm trying to see if it's broken, or a new intended behavior, or a new unintended behavior so I describe it correctly when I ask Raff (customer advocate at Avid) to check for us. Thanks.

Re: 2020.12 Audio mixer - can't type in volume level

    Hi,

same problem here. I also could not change the audio level between in and out point. For me MC2020.12 is unusable so I switched back to 2020.10.  :-(

I also had problems with color correction. Because of the audio problems I did not verify before switching back.

    Merry chrismas and keep save

Hi Klaus-Dieter, and Merry Christmas to you, too.

Sorry, but I could not duplicate this. Setting an audio level in/out works for me on 2020.12 as it did prior to 2020.12. If you decide to try 2020.12 again, please try with a new user setting to see if the problem continues.

For all of you unable to change audio levels using the input at the bottom of the fader, can you please try creating new user settings and see if the problem persists?

    Merry Christmas folks...

Cases created so support can get to the bottom of it.  I know Carl couldnt reproduce it but lets see if support can figure it out.

    Klaus - Case # 04084888

    Samuel - Case # 04084887

    Derek - Case # 04084880

Stand by as support will get on it.

    Thanks Carl for trying.......

Thanks for looking at this. Yes, you are right - it does work by pressing "enter".

Previously you did not need the "enter" command. Not a big deal but definitely not an improvement.

Same here, moreover, in previous versions ALT-click on the number entry at the bottom of the fader would reset the level to zero, that does not work anymore.

    Same for me on 2021.2

Definitely a usability downgrade (and a puzzling one).
