Hi all,
I keep getting stopped in my tracks by CORE_AUDIOUNDERRUN messages.
I'm cutting a feature MC 8.7 on a late 2015 iMac i5 3.2 Ghz with 8GB of DDRL Ram. My media is on a 2TB G-Drive USB 3.0 7200 RPM.
The project is pretty straight forward. No fancy VFX. Just straight cutting. The MXFs are in DNX36.
I'm wondering if doubling my RAM will make this problem go away or whether it may be caused by something else. I have two free slots available.
Any theories out there?
Thanks.
Lack of Ram is very likely your problem -- try 32gb or more...
Thanks for your post Buzzkill.
If I'm reading the MC specs correctly, 8GB is the minimum requirement. Do you really think 32 GB are needed? I am only using the system for offlining in DNX36.
I was thinking of adding 2 x 8GB for a total of 24GB.
You should achieve better performance with 24gb. The more Ram, the better Media Composer will perform. 8gb will keep you limited, however you might be able to adjust your PL (play-length) setting to give you some extra margin of help. You can narrow or extend how much of your sequence is 'seen' by Media Composer Ram, therefore a shorter length will utilize less Ram, however @ 8gb's the window is tight. HTH
