OS 10.15.4

Hi all, I just upgraded to MC 2020.6 -- cutting video clips onto an audio sequence (for sync) incurs approximately 3-4 seconds of latency, displaying 2 dialog messages: "Loading file media information" & "Relinking" prior to command completion.

Also, when adding a marker onto any clip in the source window, Media Composer crashes.

Should I upgrade to 10.15.6?

I seem to be having the (above) problems with only Sony A7 footage imported Prores 422, Rec709. All other project footage is Venice, F5 & some A7 all imported slog3, which is functioning correctly. 

Any ideas why cutting with this A7 footage would result in latency & crashing by simply adding a marker?

I had an issue a few months ago in a MC 2020 project of DNxHD SQ material forcing me to wait with a prompt "Loading media file information" which lasted about 5sec each time I tried to cut a clip into a timeline. I tried many things with Avid Tech support. But in the end they did not have a solution.

The only solution I could come up with was to import and transcode all my material again. Are you able to do a test to regenerate the material?

2020.8 later today and suggest you upgrade as a lot of fixes since 2020.6

Thanks morsey - that's exactly what I'm seeing... Just grabbed my source material to reload--I'll give 2020.8 a go then reload if things don't clear up. Appreciate your help!

I believe my import settings were incorrect causing the issues cited here. Reloading media with closer attention to import settings & upgrading to 2020.8 seems to have resolved everything.

However Application Manager states; 'dongle not activated' -- but everything is seemingly functioning...

Happening again; creating new sequences or insert/over-write command, experiencing 5 second delays with "Loading Media File Information" & "Relinking" messages displayed, also duplicate master clips generated.

Occuring across diverse media; Venice, F5, A7s & older archive camera material.

I'm dead-in-the-water -- any insight much appreciated...
