    Is this a Mac/PC thing?

Working remotely accessing a PC Avid on my iMac, and I have never heard of double tapping the control key in order to be able to enter time code into the source or record viewer. Never had to do it, could always just click on the viewer and type;either there's a setting I don't know about (very possible) or this is normal behavior for a PC Avid? Not the end of the world, just threw me for a while...

"Doctor, it hurts when I do this..."

I needed to do that with MC2018.12.12 (released today) that I have just installed on a Windows 7 computer.  Sorry I have not looked for a setting (and probably will not) as the double click not an issue here.

It's only necessary if you don't have a numeric keypad on your Mac keyboard. Normally the number keys across the top of the QWERTY keys are assigned to be play, step forward/backward etc etc. But double-tapping the Ctrl key allows them to be used as numerical enrty keys. If you have a 'full' keyboard with a number pad to the right of the QWERTY area, you just use that as normal.

Useful if you happen to be editing on a MBP too!
