AJA Lhi is able to control decks directly via its RS422 port.
(Just checked both MC 7.06 and MC 2019.11.1 on Mac.)
Hi again,
To the best of my knowledge Avid does not support using the serial port on any video/audio I/O device. The only supported ways are through onboard com ports or a keyspan usb to serial adapter.
The issue with the com ports included on the cards seems to be latency. The serial I/O data requires a lot of time on the pci bus that might or might not affect the ability to process the audio and video data through the same pci slot. MC wants uninterupted video, audio and remote data and is probably not able to buffer everyting under all circumstances.
By moving the serial I/O to a usb device or onboard com port Avid prevents any of these pci timing or data timing conflicts with the card.
Practically I have seen that these included ports can work in MC but its a hit and miss where the onboard and keyspan adapters always work except on Mac. On Mac I've had to add a pci usb card to get the keyspan to function.

AJA confirmed that Avid doesn't support RS422 control via third party cards.
I am glad to say that the AJA Control Room software which is free provides a good method to capture from an attached deck and is accurate.
It's not a massive issue to use that instead of media composer I have found.
just gut a Blackmagic Decklink Mini Monitor 4k, it overrides my USB i/o
is thre any news how i can get this to work, so that i can choose what audio in and out???

Sorry, but no. MC will only be able to use one I/O device, it cannot send picture out to one device and sound out of another. It has been on my feature requirement list for a while not that this be made possible, like it is in other editing software.
