Place Clip on Timeline without Patching

So, this may actually already exist, but I don't think so.  What I'd like to see, is when you are placing a clip in the timeline, and you click that red "place in timeline" arrow thing button, sometimes it's overkill to have to select your video and audio patching.  If you could just, say, Shift+click that red button and that would perform a "put in timeline at blue line, I don't care which track, just don't write over anything else in the timeline" function.  No worry about wrecking anything in your timeline, and hypothetically much faster in certain situations.

I spend most of my time between New York and Los Angeles.  In Nebraska.
