Dear Forum
I've received footage from a two camera shoot with TC on audio tracks. Translating that audio TC to Aux TC hasn't been a problem, sync is excellent (although grouping from AuxTC seems to function differently from normal TC, but that's another topic).
A very big problem is having to listen to the timecode signal when I hit play. I can reduce gain or mute a track on each clip as I work with it, but is there a method of reducing the audio gain on a single audio track (eg A3) all clips in a bin?
Apply clip gain doesn't help, it acts on all tracks.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks in advance!
Rodney

Can't you subclip that A-channel out?
I guess that would work, but I'd have to subclip each clip separately, wouldn't I? I'd like to do the whole bin in one go.
If they are masterclips, you could export an ALE, modify its tracks in a text editor, reimport the ALE with the option to merg with known sources and automatically create subclips. Also, when grouping or autosyncing, you have the option to keep or discard certain audio tracks.
i would disable the Audio TC track after sync process.
mark all clips, unlink, modify set tracks, disable the Audio TC track, relink
now the track shouldnt appear in player window andshouldnt be heared

Thanks Job, the ALE method works but it is a lot of mucking about.
I couldn't find the group or autosyncing option to discard tracks in the Grouping/Multigroup/Autosync menus. Where is it hiding?
I am a bit reticent to get rid of the audio LTC completely. In this case (a 15 minute kids' show) it's unproblematic, but in a different situation (eg sound sources with audio TC), I'd be frightened that I or someone may need them down the track.
Batch reducing gain or switching off certain tracks would be preferable if it were possible.

Thanks, in this case the camera crew recorded audio TC on track 2 on camera 1 and audio TC on track 3 on camera 2.
In any event, I can't get unlinking to work on multigroups or groups. When I try to autosync two clips with Auxilliary TC1 selected, I'm told that "selected clips don't have common timecode". But they do have common Aux TC. An operator error?
