Have downloaded Media Composer First for windows but no matter how I try to install it tells me there are files missing and doesnt complete the install process.

I have tried on another machine with the same issue, all Windows 10.

Any help appreciated.

Please unpack the installation into a top level directory (e.g. C:\) and then try.

Will this not install on Windows 10 HOME version maybe ?

It's not designed for W10 Home, but user have installed it on Home and it has worked. If you've not tried installing from the top level directory, please do so. There's a known issue where installing from a subdirectory may cause the install to fail.

I have the same problem and I installed using application manager.

MC | First was tested on Windows v7 64-bit SP1(Professional) and Windows v8.1 (Professional and Enterprise), Windows 10 64-bit (Professional and Enterprise).   It was not tested nor developed for any Home Editions. While some have gotten it to work, others havent.

I am wondering if your system was previously on Win 7 or Win 8 32 bit prior and you upgraded to Win 10 Home?

why I ask......  The free Windows 10 upgrade that came out through Windows Update (which is how most people received  the update),  does not have an option to choose Windows 10 32-bit or 64-bit; it will automatically default to your current operating system architecture.  So if you had 32 bit Win 7 and upgrded using the win 10 home free upgrade, then you are still at 32 bit.  

MC | First works on 64 bit only.

Me neither until I did a bunch of research yesterday when back from vacation. Wanted to catch up on some of the MC | First issues and found that little gem.

This is why I think some work in Home and some dont.  Not that anyone should be using Home :)

I think it was all the dll's....but I have now managed to install the software correctly.
