8.8.2 GPU Render Glitch report card?

I would love to hear some reports from the wild as to how 8.8.2 is working in the Render Glitch with GPU enabled?

Has anybody been burned by this yet?  Or is everyone just sweating the longer renders with GPU off?

    Thanks for any insight.

I have not heard of any glitch reports with Mac...they are exclusive to Windows.

In any event, the next release is due soon.

Re: 8.8.2 GPU Render Glitch report card?

    Jef

For Media Composer v8.8.3, we did a few more tweaks to it like we did with v8.8.2.  It is fixed in most cases.... as we have temporarily synchronized the transfer of image data, which could have a potential side effect of performance when playing back RT FX, and render FX to disk.

So when you have the GPU rendering enabled and sequences where some or all effect rendering is assigned to the GPU render engine, you may (and I say that lightly since I havent seen it since 8.8.3) see a decrease in performance BUT will definitely not see corrupted or artifacts in RT/Rendered material.

All should be good but I expect to hear from those heavy hitters about the performance with 8.8.3.

Please email me directly and ALWAYS include spec's, OS and what you are seeing so we can check it out.
