Hello all,
I am being asked to build an ISIS 5500 build that I have never done before. I am hoping I can get some help here.
I will have 5, Media Composer clients using the Ivy Bridge Mac Pro's with Sonit TB expantion chassis and 10gig Miricom cards. All five clients will be cutting in DNxHD 220. All five clients will be connected 10Gb to the ISIS. I am looking to have 6, ISIS 5500 32TB Chassis. The questions I have below are...
- What swtich are we going to need for this setup?
- Are there any rules to how the ISIS should be configured? I know it used to be one chassis per 10 gig client, does that still stand? And all clients need to be set too Ultra High Res in the connection manager.
- What 10gig transeivers are supported for both storage and clients?
I believe that is it, please, any help would be greatly appreciated!
MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 15" w/8 GB of Ram, Media composer v6.5
All the ISIS Documentation is here and you should be able to find all the answers you're looking for.
With 4.7 the is no longer a rule for 1 - 10GigE client per engine. I recommend the Atto Thunderlink vs the Sonnet Expansion chassis.
Use the Myricom Driver in the Kit or if you use the one from Myricom you must turn off Jumbo Frames.
I suggest using the NEXIS Client with the ISIS running 4.7.11. The software is available on the Avid Download Center.

Thank you for the reply! I am looking at the ATTO Thunder link now, is there a particular Model number that is prefered? Also what swtich do you think would be best?
We list all the support NICs in the readme. The ThunderLink TLNT-2102-D0, TLNS-2102-D01 and TLNS-2101-D00 are supported.
There is also a list of the supported switches in the network and switch guide.
