Hello people,
I have a question regarding 2k footage, I know there is a post that should give me the aswers but that was more about downskaling and other software. I just want to know can I link a 2k clip put it in a 1080p timeline and stabilizing it with the stabilizer in the MC or do I have to skale it down with frameflex so the stabilizer has some 'room' to stabilize. The next stap would be transcode.
thanks Core
Hi Core, I have seen no good integration between Avids own Stabilizer and FF re what you want to do, I have a workflow with BCC Opt stab if it is interesting
Tomas
Thanks Tomas,
I have some footage shot from a scooter with a gopro to stabilize it was shot on 2k the final resolution is 1080p.So linking and stabilizing in the MC is not the way to go?
Avid works well for this but not Avids own stabilizer , I have a workflow for BCC Opt stab as said
Ok Can you tell me your workflow, trying to say it friendly but can't find the words
Ok, if you have BCC on your sys what I do is to first work in the larger mode with direct ama links and do the Stab from there, when the analyzed procedure is finished you switch off auto scale and black bars will show up, how large the black bars are depends on the analyze mode of course, you might want to adjust so that those black aren´t to wide.
Then switch to HD mode and FF will be auto applied.
Next, and here comes the tricky thing as the BCC Opt stab is situated on the wrong side of FF so it will not do it´s job correct.
Just do a copy of that BCC Opt Stab effect to your bin, or have a bin only for this, and reapply it on the other side of FF.
Now, go to the initial BCC Opt Stab Effect and disable it, you cannot remove it as it needs to be there as a placeholder for that last applied Opt Stab Effect.
Peace of Cake ...
Ok I get it Thanks I try that first
Good luck and please tell if you got the results you wanted
