Cut on MC 5.5.5 - Footage now soft in MC 7.0?

Hi there, I have a documentary, original shot on VHS, 4x3. The footage has been imported 1:1, and edited in an SD 30i project.  The project was cut on Avid 5.5.5 (important...)

As per advice,  for finishing purposes, I brought the locked cut into a 1080i 59.94 project. In order to retain the 4x3 look, I'm using the REFORMAT effect on V6 (Video Track 6). And on V7,  I have a video mixdown of the final locked cut, rendered at DNx145HD. The video mixdown on V7 is sharp and clean.

However, I jumped onto an Avid MC 7.0.4 system, and all of the original 1:1 footage (Not the mixdowns) when viewed using the Reformat effect on V6, are now SOFT. When I compare between V6 (reformat layer) and V7 (mixdown), V7 is still sharp & V6 is dull & soft. This is happening only when i use the MC7.0.4 system, NOT the MC5.5.5 system.

As a test, I tried doing a new mixdown of the same footage, while on MC7.0.4, and when I compare the mixdown created on MC 5.5.5, and the current system, the mixdowns are SOFT.

I double checked all the media creation and render settings, which are either at Automatic or FULL (highest quality) for renders/mixdowns, etc.

Is this a known bug? What is my work around?  The only difference I can think of, is this 7.0.4 system does NOT have BCC efx loaded. It is also prompting me to "update sequence to promote missing plug-ins to AVX 2.0"

    Help?

Would be quite easy to check what effects that is used on the origin . 5.5.5 system and, if for example, BCC Uprez , a very good upscaler, is used on the origin system, it of course also needs to be installed on the 7.0.4 system.

Later systems needs 64 bits plugins for your info
