Dear Support,


My computer got fried. I've got a new one and now have two issues:
- The license has expired earlier this year. Don't know the expiry date thus I don't know which version can I install. (It wasn't updated since 8.3)
- I couldn't de-activate Media Composer IE: won't be able to activate the new install.

I looked up the system under 'MyProducts' (https://my.avid.com/products#MyProducts) but under the "Products Details and Download Links/ Media Composer" there is only a "Download Dongle Updater File" link.
Which doesn't apply to me for i never had a dongle.

I sent an email to <[email protected]> but the address doesn't exist any more.

Please advise, how to go about this.

 IT confirmed this is a bug. IT-6116. In the meantime, you can get the download from the Avid master account "Download Center"

I still don't know which version am I allowed to install though.

Also, I guess, the activation will need to be reset somehow.

Is there a way to contact support directly? If there is, I can't find it.

I escalated your case yesterday to IT. Today the issue is resolved, the download link for MC 8.1.0 is in the Product Details and Download Links.

I still can't activate it though. (online)

"Fail Activation: Activation fFailed. Device ID in licence file does not much this machine's Device ID."

Which is correct for this is a totally different hardware. Which I believe needs resetting that licence file.
