BarkinMadd: You basically need to manually build a sync map sequence with all your camera angles and then cut that up into multiple grouped clips. Pain but apparently the best way to allow for offline edition followed by relinking to original source clips. There are some very good articles on this workflow but I've never used it myself.

I did a quick look up and it says to use a seperate video track for each clip or for each camera but then it says to use plural eyes to sync all these clips. That would be hard with so much footage. This seems for cinematographers doing interviews. http://willblanksblog.blogspot.com/2014/05/how-to-multigroup_15.html
I did just realize although I am not updated to 8.5 they now have Pluraleyes. Let’s Edit with Media Composer – ADVANCED – Multicam Editing in v8.5waveform synchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9whtzAn2rA
Ronald Czarnecki: smrpix tried but top folder does not span the linked clips. Here is the folder structure:I have a JVC GY-HM170uahttps://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1194106-REG/jvc_gy_hm170ua_4kcam_compact_professional.html My camera options are: Open SD card -DCIM/100JVCPR/quicktime files-Private/JVC/CQAVC=Clip & InfoThis camera can dual record differenct formats at the same time, hence the two different folders. I tried some AVC with the private folder as a top folder but it not did create a spanned clip.

Ok, I see, would you like to do this test for me, and maybe with a later version than 8.45 , no idea if that matters though.
1: Create a folder on your media drive, maybe not to deep buried down in the folder structure, and maybe just name it TEST
2: With the SD card mounted in your card reader, ( and be sure to have the option to see all files and folders in the windows OS enabled in the OS settings ) open up the card and copy the entire structure to that test folder.
3: With Avid opened up, alt drag that TEST folder to a new bin to find out if this workflow makes any difference re spanned clips
Tomas
Thanks but it is not possible to drag a folder into a bin, nor is it possible to drag any of the QT files into the bin. You have to link or import.
Dragging clips is indeed possible, but Tomas wrote ALT-drag, which might also work with folders.
peace luca
Alt-drag triggers a link (AMA) operation.

Tried the Alt drag for top and every folder down from there. I see where is it possible from the forum discuccion below however it mentions using MXF clips. I am using QT maybe that is the difference.https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/45/898953

Ok , so .. maybe it matters

I am now on 8.6.3 and yet I could not move a folder for linking. I even tried some MXF folder I had. Maybe this is just for AVCHD. Does Avid have some material on how this works and for what formats? Here is a video link of what I tried. https://vimeo.com/182246909/04bda76364
I'm running 8.6.2 before it got yanked. I hold the ALT key down then click on a folder and drag it over a bin (not over the source browser). When I drag over the bin I see the drag icon change and the word 'Link' is clearly visible. I then releaes the mouse button (still holding the ALT key) and the files within the folder automatically link and I see them in the bin.
I watched your video and I can't understand why it doesn't work.
Caveat - I only have XAVC-L MXF files to play with on my system at the moment - no QT files. And I don't have any UHD files so that could be the issue, I suppose.
I'm running a 1080p project @29.97 fps, MC 8.6.2 and Windows 10.
We will see if anyone else may know. I was holding the Alt key all during the video when moving the folders.
First it seems like you have a system or user setting error, alt drag should link and dragging files with no alt should import so I would start with the usual troubleshooting stuff as trashing all but the defaults settings and starting up as a new user.
Second, now that you are on 8.63 with the source browser that browser should bring spanned files together as one clip, how about that one.
add.... and third, did you make sure to have " show hidden files and folders " enabled in your Windows OS, some cards have hidden files, the FS 700 cards always have an avf_info folder hidden as an example and without that one present not even Sonys own software handles those cards correct
Indeed Ronald's system doesn't work as it should with regards to the ALT-drag thing, but after a second look at the screenshots posted, the clips in the bin are not all of the same duration, so this is not a case of spanned clips not stitching toghether, but it's the camera operator who brought home mince meat instead of the entire beef.
Nice find Luca, I´ve also just created a small screenshow

Thanks for trying to figure this out. I watech the video and see you can do the transfer but I can not figure it out. I tried all your request:
