cannot connect to my project on the extern drive, says DISK_LOCKED

    Hi there,

Have stored and worked my project on MC 8.4.4. on an externa hard drive with a Mac Mini. Now wanted to access the same project from a different computer and it says that exception: Disk_locked. I cannot find any clue that my seagate external or an internal disk is locked. I want to keep all the work on the external drive and just access it through a different omputer, a MacBook in that case.

    Thanks, Anita

    Hello anita96,

I'm not a Mac guy, but it seems like a permission setting you need to change.

    FAQ here.

Re: cannot connect to my project on the extern drive, says DISK_LOCKED

    Thanks Ralph,

I figured out what it is. I had to reformat the drive to be compatible with MAC: In the process of it, I had to transfer the whole project on a different computer and transferred itr bakc on the gard drive. the drive works now with the second computer, but now I cannot re-link all my files because I had to rename them in the bin and now I cannot find the originals. Beside that I used Autosynch and will have to do this for every video and audio. Is there a chance of automatically relinking the files as FCP does?

    Thanks, Anita

If you renamed clips in the bin - you can see where they came from by enabling the "Source Path" and "Source File" column.  That data never changes.

Where those files Linked (AMA), or were they Avid MXF media?
