Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this. When I run the Application Manager, the application shows the Connecting... message and the spinning Wait icon, but it never connects. THe list of applications is blank, but the License tab correctly shows the dongle. I've left it running for 24 hours just to see what would happen, but it's still stuck on Connecting.
The App Manager has run in the past, and there have been no system updates. The firewall is configured correctly for App Manager and App Manager Helper, both TCP and UDP. The system specs are in my signature. Everything is up to date.

Hello Dave,
I have sent you an email regarding your issue.
Gerald,
The last Email I have from you is from August 19, to which I responded.
Sent you an email last week. Were you able to received it? If not, I can resend it for you. Are you still having this problem as well?

Avid Application manager is seriously defective on OSX. I have had the non connect issue and can solve that by logging out and closing the application and signing back in. However, it does not synch correctly with avid.com, so it says media composer is expiring a year earlier than www.avid.com says on the website. It remains to be seen if media composer will not be upgradable when the expiraton occurs on Avid Application manager, even though I have paid over a year ahead and the avid website has the correct contract date.
As a side note: Avid Application manager does not see that I have Sorenson Squeeze Pro 10 nor New Blue Titler 4. Fortunately these work anyway.

Hello Philo,
As discussed on our email thread, feel free to message me if issues persist.
Avid Tech support deleted old Avid cache files and it is working fine now. Thanks.
I spoke too soon. The app will not allow me to upgrade Media Composer, even though I paid for an upgrade. Fortunately the web system allows me to download the updates. So Application Manager is still defective.
spoke too soon, see above
Hi Philo,
I just experienced the same problem today, when I launched the App Man, its shows connecting, I waited for nearly an hour to avail, I know its working yesterday before I turn off my machine.
I back track what changes was made, AFAIR, I disable my startup items because of annoying website that is popping up every time I open my browser. I open up msconfig and check what associated files I tick off related to Avid,, I found out that AvidAppManHelper is tick off, I checked the box hit apply, restarted the machine, double click AppManager and under 10-15 secs it log in.
I'm not sure if this will work with your situation, but it certainly fixed mine.
Regards,
RalphC

Hello Ralph,
Are you still having issues with this one? Please email me if yes for us to sort it out.
Please can I get help with that as well? Can I get this email too? App Manger is not connectin here too, endlessly spinning wheel. I uninstalled and re-installed both appl manager and MC, still have major issue for MC asking for AMA plugins etc. I figured that maybe the fact that the App manger can't connect and spinning wheel for hours could have to be the problem.
Beside that, is there a way to connect a project that is on an external hard drive to another computer. It seems to ask for relinking every single clip. I have to manually find it. Is there not another way. Sorry to say that, but as FCP does it? That it detects the connection it has and relinks them itself. You only have to point into the direction.
Thanks, Anita
