What I don't understand is, both FCPX and Premier Pro handel XAVC'S. IF they can why cant Avid? It seems to me to be an Avid thing again.
EditReady is easy, just drag the private folder in and choose the clips one needs to transcode.
I have just been testing Premier Pro and have to say it's very good and I understand why editors are now moving to this.
You don't even need EditReady to transcode. Just have it pass through the video (rewrap from MP4 to MOV). It is faster and Avid is able to AMA link with the XAVCS.mov file.

Hi Dom,
I noticed the pass through but I'm not sure I have this working. If I use passthrough (no change is this still XAVC'S on the other side. If I use rewrap is the .MOV?
Cheers
I've just done a test with rewrap and although it does work I still have to transcode after AMA.
I think I'll stay with my previous workfow. My work flow has been, import into Editready export to ProRes HQ then Avid AMA and then consolidate files.
I'll second that workflow, as it allows 4k Frame Flex options.
