    Audio Glitch Problem - MC8.1.0

    Hello,

Have just upgraded MC7 to MC8.1.0 - I am experiencing a significant audio issue at the start of every audio clip.  I usually use audio key frames to ramp audio up to full level, and dip accordingly where neccessary.  However - in MC8.1.0 when I set the initial audio level at the start of a clip to 0 (no audio - not 0dB)  and then ramp it up to any level, on playing the clip the first frame plays at full level.  ie - there is a nasty glitch at the front of every audio clip.

I have tries using the audio faders on the head of each clip - drag this all the way down to -dB and it'll still play one frame of full level before it recognises the level should be 0.

There is therefore a single frame audio glitch on the head of every one of my audio clips - significantly problematic if mastering a broadcast edit on Monday - any help or thoughts gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks  Tb

I am having the same problem running MC 8.1.0 on 2.3GHz 16GB RAM MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9 - even when I put a dissolve at the front of an audio clip I get this audio glitch.

Need to get this sorted quickly as I'm also mid-project with a tight deadline and an angry client!

Me too... Roll back to 8.0 and your problem will go away.

Does anybody at Avid test these releases?

FACT: Most of Hollywood is still using V5.5. How can Avid survive when most of their high end users are on 4 year old software because subsequent releases are too unreliable? I applaud Avid for looking to the future with many exciting ideas but you need to fix these kind of bugs quickly or you are doomed and I will have to learn another more reliable application. I have been using this software for 23 years and will be very sad to see this company fail.

I mentioned that same problem here on the fourms months ago but had no response, this audio glitch has rendered MC8.1 as unusable.

Re: Audio Glitch Problem - MC8.1.0

Same problem on both my PC Avid qualified sytems, recently upgraded from 7.0.4 to 8.1.

Also constant AMPI subsystem error when trying to export wav or QT ref files with wav after working on audio for a while - have to restart Avid.

Loud pops and crackles when scrubbing through the time-line with audio scrub on - legend communication underun error briefly pops up in record monitor

Audio suite plugins - have to hit render multiple times before they actually show up as rendered...

Re: Audio Glitch Problem - MC8.1.0

I have a similar problem with audio dissolves & eq effects in MC7.

I get a short crackle / clicking sound on the 1st frame of the dissolve during realtime playback. It seems that the audio dissolve isn't working on the 1st frame the same way it isn't working on the clips with auto gain.

I'm having the exact same issue with this at the moment meaning it's impossible to edit audio! I've been adding dissolves, key frames, using faders but nothing gets rid of the full volume first frame glitch on the audio. It's embarrassing when playing back to a client as it's a problem i'm unable to explain. Anyone at Avid have any news on sorting this out, and quickly?

Thanks Kevin - a look into this specific 8.1.0 audio clip issue originally posted would be great - it's proving very problematic laying off to tape with this issue - thanks
