Can Avid Media Composer 8 Import VANC (.mcc) files and export them out?

    Hi,

Does AMC 8 support VANC (.mcc) files? When I import them in, it won't let me drag them to the timeline. .SCC files work, but I am trying to create an HD MPEG file that has closed captioning.

    Thank you,

    Bruce

Are you dragging (importing) or Alt dragging AMA linking.

If they appear in a bin they should be editable to the timeline.

As far as I know, Avid only supports EBU N19 (.stl) files and Avid DS (.txt) files for subtitling, via the SubCap effect. I was not able to import a .mcc file when I tried.
