Avid Media Composer v7.0.4 (Mac and PC) is now available on the Avid Download Center!  The software can be found under the new heading of Media Composer | Software.

Who is Eligible:
Customers running v7.0.x are eligible to download and install these maintenance updates.

Mac OS X:
Media Composer v7.0.4 continues to support OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion), and now includes OS X 10.9.2 (Mavericks).

What's new in v7.0.4:
The v7.0.4 maintenance release has over 100 bug fixes.  In addition, the Interplay Sphere plugin is no longer installed automatically and must be downloaded separately.  All customers should also be encouraged to download and scan the ReadMe so they know what is changed and fixed.

Full Installers:
Note that Mac releases are always full installers, so be sure to uninstall any previous version before uinstalling v7.0.4.

Is it possible to get a trial version of v7.0.4?

I have a new MBP Retina and it came with OS X 10.9.2 and it seems the trial version is v7.0.3 which does not work with OS X 10.9.2!

Or, can I get a link for the trial for v6.5?

I'm currently on Media composer. 7.0.3 full installer from a fresh install on windows 7 64. I tried the 7.0.4 patch update for Media composer. I get an error message pop up on the patch installer when it gets to status registering product on the progress bar. It comes up a pop up box saying a feature you are trying to use is on a cd or other removable media. Insert the avid media composer disc and continue.

I insert the media composer 7.0.3 full disc installer and it is asking for an msi file I try and it throws an error any ideas or work around?

After I downloaded the V7.0.4 Mac Installer DMG, the included documentation Read Me PDF is V7.0.3 ???

A serious bug I have encounter. After installing V7.0.4 and doing my first edit, I tried to export 3 x 3 minute Quicktime references to Sorenson.

All 3 audio tracks were corrupt with stereo tracks out of sync with each of the audio tracks and audio artifacts throughout.

My workflow was to an audio mixdown of 3 tracks to 1 stereo track and export a quicktime reference.

I tried doing a mixdown to dual mono and the result was the same. All played back corrupt and out of sync with each other.

Help. How do we get a bug fix. How do I export now??

I have reported the issue to Avid to fix the download file, but Eric is correct...I always try to include the README in these posts so you can easily see what's new and/or fixed before you download the whole thing.

I have been using it on 10.8.5 for over a week and it's been fine for me, but perhaps I haven't run into those bugs yet.  I can't speak for how it works on Mavericks yet, since I'm not using 10.9.

MacPro 2013 and OSX10.9.2

Just curious if you have tried a different Avid user and/or Avid project.  Need to make sure it's a system issue and a cdorrupted user or project setting.  Anyone else seeing this issue?

Leo, you've posted in the Mac forum.  You will have better luck looking for an answer in the PC forum.

I may have overstated the "extreme buggyness" but Im on 10.9.2 (which it officially supports) and I cant playback via a Blackmagic UltraStudio Express (ive read of other people with similar issues with output cards) and this user has this audio problem. But I recommend just going back to 7.0.3 if it was working well for you while they figure out whats wrong with .4

I have a second system running v7.0.3 on my iMac. I transferred the project file and then accessed my raid via my network and exported the same  3 quick times to Sorenson with no issues.

middle of the night here so I can not try user or project now. Will do tomorrow.
