    Deactivated dongle

    Can someone help me?

    Something strange happen with my dongle. Today I can’t launch Avid with my dongle. Avid tell that my license has expired.
    And dongle manager tell this:

    How can I reactivate my dongle?

    Trying emailing to Marianna but she is out of office for next four days.

    I would suspect you accidentally switched to electronic licensing.. did you use the sme serial number and activation code when upgrading or something? In any case Avid ofers a fully functional 30 day trial that will get you by until Marianna returns.

    Can we go back to the way audio nodes used to be selected? Please? ie if you have audio nodes at the same time on selected tracks; then selecting 1 audio node selects them all at that time. Having to shift select nodes or add an in and out is time consuming and counter productive. At least make it an option.

    Something strange was happens. When I have starting Avid, I inserted flash drive in my Macbook Pro, after that my firewire raid ejected with error and Avid loosing activation.

    Yes, I can work with 30 day trial but I am loosing Symphony option and on another Mac I can't switch to 30 day trial.

    Symphony also has 30 day free trial. You could try reblasting your dongle with your old updater file, but apart from that I don't have many other ideas except that surely Marianna isn't the only support person at Avid who can handle licence problems. (She isn't because a very nice girl in my local support office Singapore has helped me a couple of times with problems I've had..)

    Thank you. I have tried old updater file but dongle can't accept it anymore. And I am from Russia which has not support office, what is very strange because in the list of Avid programmer team every second name is Russian.

    Hi,

    You should contact Avid Support.

    http://www.avid.com/US/support/support-contact

    Select Video Editing & Production, then call the number listed for the office closest to you.  Help with activation/dongle issues is free, and it's option 2 from the phone menu.

    If you don't get anywhere with them, send an email to Marianna Montague (marianna.montague@avid.com).  She's their customer advocate, and can help you.

    Did you phone your local Avid office as you've been advised? Your issue would be solved by now or at least well in the works if you'd done that when u started this thread.

    None of them will speak Russian by phone and I have a little problem with spoken English.

    And I think it's more comfortably send dongle file by mail than by phone.

    IF your dongle won't update from an earlier updater file then you may have a problem with the dongle that an updater file won't fix.

    Does sound like you need to find an Avid support agent who can communicate with you as you may well have to have a dialogue with them ove rit.

    Hi,

    I've had a similar case like yours. If you registered your license of MC , which I assume you have as you have tried to contact Marianna, you can contact avid support and request a new dongle updater file. Technically the disabled dongle can be re-activated and I have received such an updater from Avid and re-activated a dongle myself.

    Of course Avid will check that the license is not software activated on any system.

    I do not know if an active support contract is needed but if Marianna gets back she'll figure it out.
