Hi,
I am working on a project which has many files in different frame rates (23.98, 24, 24.98, 25, 29.97 etc) and I will be outputting to 720p 25fps (most of the files are 25p).
With the 25p material I am linking via AMA and transcoding.
What is the best way to deal with the non-25p material?
Does MC7.0 offer a different workflow via AMA? i.e. can I just link to the media and transcode in my 25fps project or do I still need to use the old method of creating a different project for each of the framerates, link via AMA, transcode, then open these bin in the 720p 25fps project?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
You can Link to AMA in a single project, but you should transcode in the different project types in order to preserve the best quality. This will also allow you to relink back to AMA if you need to.
If you transocde your non-25fps material in your 25fps project, 1) you won't be able to go back to AMA, and 2) you will bake in any frame blending required to alter the framerate. You may have better results being able to alter the motion adapter by bringing the footage in at its native frame rate.

Thanks, Kevin. I thought that might be the case.
