UPGRADE to 6.5 Windows XP error

I am trying to upgrade to MC 6.5. I have the download but when I try to install I get an error message con not install need newer service pack installer. I have service pack 3 have all updates for windows XP. It looks like a licensing error or veriification. Has anyone had this issue? Thanks

I don't think any very over 6.x is qualified for XP - see the version matrix here.

Mike is correct. You must upgrade your OS to Windows 7 Professional 64 to run MC 6, which is the first MC version that is entirely 64 bit based. It will not run on Windows XP.

Yes you do. You will be much happier with Windows 7 Pro. More stable.
