This is not a purely technical question, but unfortunately I cannot find an answer to this question anywhere else on Avid.com.

I purchased the student version of MC 6.5, but cannot use the full version until I provide proof of my academic standing (I'm a teacher). My issue is that I need to install the full version on a different computer to the one that I initially installed the software on (the trial version has currently expired).

Once I prove my eligibility, can I install the full version on a separate computer? Assuming I will have to uninstall the previous version on the original computer, which is not a problem.

Once you purchase and obtain verification from Identi-e, and are issued the system ID and activation ID for the Faculty license, you can install it on the same CPU or a different one than the trial was on.  you can even run it on both but only run one license at a time.  

Example - Install on CPU A and activate.  Deactivate on CPU A via the Avid License Control Utility.  Install on CPU B and activate.  Deactivate on CPU B via the Avid License Control Utility

Rinse and repeat.

i've received the system ID and activation ID for the license. i just tried using it on a different CPU and it's neither accepting the new activation code, and when i use the one i received on the card i received with the software (ie the download code), i get the message that this code has already been used on a different system. i haven't deactivated avid on CPU 1 yet, so you're saying that i need to deactive avid on CPU 1 before i can install on CPU 2?

Yes!  thats what you need to do.

And is the Avid License Control Utility within the program itself? I don't have internet access on CPU 1 so can I still deactivate on that machine?

I just talked to Avid support and they activated the software for me over the phone. Thanks for your help!
