Wanted to check in with everybody in relation to the sluggish and unpredictable behaviour of MC6.5 and Matrox MX02 mini.
Since the upgrade to 6.5 editors constantly complain.
Issues vary from
sluggish unresponsive behaviour
fast scrub works poorly
trim is unuseable
stuttering playback in the source monitor
sequences not playing when client monitoring turned off.
Practically all the issues are cured when using a Kona LHi.
Pretty sure were running the correct supported configuration.
Anybody else having these issues.
All of this. Still waiting for miracle from Avid and Matrox.
Make sure you have the latest Matrox drivers. I heard this was an issue, and that the latest drivers fix them.
Of course, latest drivers.
But stuttering playback in the source monitor is unbearable. And strange it appears only in PAL DNxHD projects. None in PAL HDV and none in all NTSC projects.
I updated my MXO2 Drivers and I'm running MC 6.5.2 and things are vastly improved.
I still have some timeline sluggishness during scrub and trim, but FAR LESS than before the update.
Client monitor works fine.
Audio tool is more in sync. It is still about 3 frames ahead of audio though.
I'm running a Matrox MXO2 with Max on a MacPro 2010 12-core using MC 6.0.32/Lion and I'm not having any of the issues you're detailing other than a slight bit of lag after I position a trim.
I tried latest Matrox MX02 Mini drivers with MC 6.5.2. Client monitor plays smooth, jerky motion in both source and timeline viewers when Matrox hardware is switched on, goes away when switched off. I'm seeing this in both DV Pal and HDV.
Not really workable if you use the computer monitors to view playback at all.
