Hi, I'm coming from a mac where we would frequently email someone a file path to a shared bin, and could then click on that bin in the finder to quickly open it in avid (without having to go through the "open bin" menu). Now I'm in an office that uses windows and this doesn't seem to work. We're on windows 8.1 pro and running MC 8.8.5. Right-clicking on bins shows that they are set to open with Avid Media Composer, but when I double click them nothing happens. Is there a setting to change this behavior?
There isn't a setting for this. It just doesn't work on windows that way.
The closest I can come is to copy the link url. Then in MC use open bin and paste the link in there to access the bin

Hey Team Community
Great news I got from Monika this weekend....
I wanted to let you know that we have fixed a long standing ask in the forums. Double clicking a bin file (.avb) in Windows now works in MC 2020.12.2 and 2021.6 next month when it comes out.
Monika has been working with Netflix on this bug ( MCCET-4051) and I wanted to let the peeps here on the forum know as Im sure you all will be VERY happy to hear this news.
xo
