  • Subclip origin?

Hi, Editing a film at the moment. After importing my files I subclipped any video clips that were relevant - organizing them into new bins and renaming them. I want to check what files a subclip came from, but I can't get that information from clip info or reveal file. Is there a way to check where...

  • Returning all subclips to head of each clip - How To?

Hello, My question regards a process I go through on a regular basis when processing rushes. At the end of this process I have a large number of sub-clips with audio or MOS. Which I like to group select then drag and drop into a timeline (like a kem roll for the avid editor). I am able to lasso all of...

  • Can't punch in timecode in subclips?

Somehow, I can't punch in timecodes in sub clips generated with auto sync. Gives me the error beep. I must point out that video and audio mix downs were used to make the sub clips via auto sync. The window looks identical as master clips that accept timecode input. Here's the top right of sub...

  • How do I consolidate subclips with comments?

Hi all - I am new to Avid but have been tasked to do some media management for a client. I am backing up media to an external drive by using the consolidate feature ... however, all of the editors have have included nice ID comments for each subclip in the bins, which I would like to pass on to the client...

  • Bug report: Crash on generating a subclip near start of HDV capture

I encountered a bug in MC 5.5.3 while capturing from an HDV tape, from 00;08;00 to 46;36;00. (I generally capture whole tapes for multicam productions.) The capture seemed to proceed without a hitch until it got to the very end, at which point MC crashed with this report: An error has occurred: Assertion...

  • Transcode and relink AMA subclips

Hello, I'm using MC 5.5.1, experimenting AMA for the first time. I mounted the 5D volume with all H264 quicktime files (1080p, 25fps), and MC automatically created the bins regarding to the folder. That was great. Then I synced this AMA clips to imported BWAV, creating synced subclips. Now I'm...

  • RED Footage and Subclips

Hello all, I am a student and I am pretty new to avid. I am editing a project shot on RED 4K that was down converted to 1080p files using REDCINE-X. The file names were kept the same in order to make it easy to move back to a higher resolution when necessary. When syncing sound in the timeline, I have...

  • Getting sound from vid track 1 to overwrite sound on vid track 2

Hi, VERY, VERY new to Avid, so I really have no idea how to solve this problem: I have two video tracks in my sequence. What I want to do is drop a subclip into video track 2 about one minute into the sequence, but I want the SOUND (which is narration) from video track 1 to play OVER the sound in video...

  • Matchframe issue

Hi there, Does anyone know if there is a setting to stop a subclip from being able to extend past it's duration. I want to be able to determine where the subclip ends rather than extending past it's first or last frame and it letting me match back to the master clip. Many thanks, Steven

  • Keyboard Control

    1. When playing a clip in the source window, after the end has been reached, I cannot go 1 frame back with the cursor keys . Instead I have to press "Home", then "End", then I can skip frames forward and back. Or I have to press just "End" (though I am already there at the...
