Basically AMA linked media just doesn't move well. You can copy the AMA sources to the External drive and then link them into a new bin. That will cause the original clips to automatically re-link to that media. (most of the time) But it's not ideal and you have to do the same when you return...

The Nitris box will work with MC or Symphony (basically the same code base) its just a dongle limitation. Of course the other downside is you will need an old OS like XP and of course that is vunerable nowadays. Simpler if you go Mojo SDi as you just need firewire (but you do need the right firewire...

Thats a really unhelpful position to be in. You don't want to be backing up while editing. If the system locks up and restarts you've wiped your attic. I'd look at a redirected folder to point the attic somewhere safe!

My Z800 used to have a Quadro 4000 card and an GFX780 card. teh 4000 card needed the additional 6 pin connector and the 780 card an additional 6 pin plus anoth 4 pin I think. We had to make up and pslice in cables to make it work. I'd assume all connections on the card need a connector in them.

AMA the content into MC. Use field stepping function (in command palette) to confirm field order correct or wrong. If correct then Consolidate or Transcode as needed. If wrong Import content using legacy import and force field order to correct.

If it's music why not import (or modify the clip after import) to be a stereo clip. You then just get one fader to adjust for that clip and when cut into the sequence just one stereo track to manage.

Sounds liek you don't have a clip or sequence highlighted in the bin and then right click selected export. The options you list show up with a bin highlighted instead of a sequence.

Make it monochrome and its all sorted :-) As long as the whole duration is within one clip you can keyframe the change over time. If you have multiple clips making up the sequence I'd mixdown to a flat single clip and CC that.

I suspect a 35mbps 1920 export would look pretty crunched up. Subsampling down to 1440 allows the 35mbps to achieve reasonable results. You maynot be able to select 1440 as a raster size unless you disable 3rd party I/O in the timeline. You should then get the 1440 raster option and your OP1a export...

Do you have any other screens connected to the display card? HDMI maybe? I've seen second/3rd screens be recognised by the OS after boot and that causes the display to refresh. That refresh will upset MC into thinking you have chnaged resolution so must restart MC.
